A short explanation: What is an so called open Eprom? The engine control is taken over by a microprocessor operated unit, ECU. This unit measures RPM, crank angle, butterfly valve position, air pressure, etc. and specifies an optimal ignition point, injection point and injection rate. The measured data’s will be compared with tables which are given by a set of characteristic curves. Intermediate steps are interpolated. Unfortunately it exists a discrepancy between what an engine needs and what it gets. Reason for it are the legal exhaust regulations, which prescribe fixed test runs and low exhaust gas values. The actually very homogeneous characteristics (which the engine needs to run well) are then adjusted in such a way that the exhaust emission behavior fits. Unfortunately at the expense of the achievement, the acceleration and the smoothness. Open Eproms eliminate this lack and offer ideal characteristics to the ECU. The next point is the search for more power. Often open air filters and exhaust systems are driven, which give a higher gas throughput to the engine. Inevitably these engines are lean again. Here the optimized characteristics set likewise against it and make from more sound also an genuine increased output. Typically the engines with open Eproms run more smoothly in the lower range, have a better acceleration and give more performance in the top range. With normal driving fashion the fuel consumption does not rise because the same performance is available at lower RPM and the engine does not have itself tormented through the leaner zones. ATTENTION ! The Eprom can be delivered only for Europe. Not to America, Australia, Africa or Asia. For these continents we have no important parametres for the programming. The mounting is very simple. The ECU is demounted with few handles. The ECU´s P7 and P8 can be opened by unscrewing the cover. The smaller M16 ECU has a rubber plug, under it sits the Eprom. Since Ducati uses only socket Eproms, just pull out the original and plug in the new one

Dyno or no dyno, pre-made and shared maps are a thing of the past. To harness the full potential of a fuel control module like the Bazzaz Z-Fi, the Z-AFM takes all the present conditions into account to create on-demand custom maps. Even better, the Bazzaz Z-AFM is not closed loop like so many competitors. The proactive system quickly generates working maps, eliminating the need for constant adjustment that occurs with a closed loop system. This ensures accurate fuel delivery on-demand.The optional Z-AFM (Air Fuel Mapping) kit consists of an air fuel sensor and amplifier box that plugs into any of the Z-Fi products and allows for custom self-mapping of the motorcycle. Custom self-mapping means that as the user rides the bike, on the track or on a dynamometer, the Z-Fi automatically calculates the required fuel adjustment at each RPM and Throttle Position to reach the user selected target air fuel ratio. The Z-Fi Mapper software allows for the user to easily enter a single or multiple target air fuel ratio, start, stop, and review the results of the self-mapping function. Once the recommended adjustments have been reviewed, the user can either apply all of the suggested adjustments or fine tune to create their own custom fuel map with a few simple clicks of the mouse.The Z-AFM kit offers an alternative way for mapping without the time or cost of a custom dyno tune. For the rider looking for maximum performance, a dyno tune together with the Z-AFM is the way to go. The kit comes with all of the required hardware, but may require modification of the exhaust pipe to accept the air fuel sensor fitting. Many exhaust manufacturers make versions of their existing pipes with the sensor fitting already built in.

    Dynojet Power Commander USB III
    The Power Commander is a fuel injection adjustment unit that plugs "inline" with the bike’s stock ECU (electronic control unit). The PC uses original equipment style connectors, so no splicing or cutting of the harness is required. Most installations take less than 15 minutes, some as little as 5 minutes.
    Changes are made to the bikes fuel and, in some cases, ignition curves via the PC's onboard microprocessor. Using this technology we are able to offer a large area of adjustment without making any permanent changes to the bike’s ECU. Removing the PC returns the bike to its previous stock condition.     Having a personal message on start up is always a nice thing, any messsage up to 15 signs is possible.
    Will the dealer be able to read diagnostics etc. from the ecu?
    Yes, it will act just like any original ecu. The dealer or anyone else cannot tell it has different maps.
    How to order
    Remove the ecu from the bike and send it to us, make sure you include name and shipping address. Write us what bike and equipment such as exhaust system etc you have.
    Turn around time
    Turn around is 7-10 days plus shipping time.
    What about if I want my old ecu configuration back?
    When your ecu is received the current configuration is read from the ecu and we send that file back to you. That way you can always have your original ecu configuration back to what it was before at any time.
