Scrambler 800 goes big bore

Our customer Silvio from Germany had the whish for more “punch” for his Scrambler because he often rides with friends on the streets and some of them have bigger bikes and so on his Scrambler some torque was missing!

After receiving the bike we put it on the Dyno to check the HP and torque to have a better comparison of the original bike and the tuning, the results you will see later..

So, we started to disassemble the bike, removed the engine from the chassis and took off the heads and cylinders.

Cylinders were bored from 88mm to 90mm diameter and pistons changed for 90mm Pistal HC pistons  (Big bore kit) . The cylinder heads got a little porting job , new intake valves with 45mm diameter and the ports and valve seats were optimized for much better gas flow. When mounting the engine, squish was also adjusted and cam timings fine degreed , for sure!

The bike was mounted without airbox and is running with one big MWR air filter mounted to the throttle body. The fuel mapping was done with a Power Commander 5 on our Dyno, the result of this tuning is very nice and much more than Silvio expected, but just have a look on the dyno chart.

Silvio is so happy with the result that he made in the first week after receiving back the bike already 2000Km and he can’t stop smiling while riding!
