An overview

We offer individual prepared so called “open” eproms for all models. Please indicate model, year of construction and the used parts for example Pure Tec Superbike filter and Akrapovic exhaust. More exactly described examples are to be found at eproms and air filters or exhaust systems in our online shop. There you can find also more performance diagrams. If these above described works are done and you have further performance desires we proceed with the following suggestions:

1998-2000 models are quite extensively to work on if the performance should rise clearly. 2001-2003 models need less expenditure to rise power further.

The Pure Tec Superbike air filter eliminates the torque hole at 5500 rpm. completely. Price with adapted eprom is 249 €. In combination with the airbox intake from the models till 2000 (unfortunately 2001 were made smaller in relation to the 2000er variant) the following performance schedule results:

    An Akrapovic 2 in 2 complete racing system and a adjustable fuel pressure regulator is needed to rise power at the 2001-2003 models to 13-136 hp. This exhaust system is a basic part for more performance. Here you can see the results:

  • Akrapovic exhaust system race = up from 1860 €
  • Fuel pressure regulator = 149 €

    The works and parts above plus a 56mm injection body result in the following performance schedule:

    The horsepower rises upward and the torque drops in the lower and mid range but these modifications are possible without dividing the engine.

  • Cylinder head optimisation (working on inlet and outlet, transforming valves to more aerodynamically shape and polishing inclusive new adjustment) starts from 680 € excl. tax for both heads depending upon stage.

  • Milling cylinder heads for the compression increase. Set price 148 €. If heads be flat-milled a correction of the cam times is necessary with a change of the chain wheels. Changed chain wheel set for it costs 155 € and deep-milling the valve bags in the piston per set 128 €.

    With mentioned above stages we reach 142-144 hp at the 2001-2003 models. If the engine is delivered the costs amounts to 765 € excl. tax for disassembly and assembly inclusive fine adjusting cam shafts.

    When the cycle is delivered completly the extra costs amounts to 465 € excl. tax.

    Dyno stand tests are about 150 € excl. tax.

    The head gaskets and eventual spark plugs and small materials are about 100 €.

    The described positions result in the following performance schedule:

    The next stage without any further mechanical treatment would be a 56mm injection body with appropriate tuning. The performance rises then to 146-148 hp. 56mm injection body in the exchange against the original one costs 495 €.

    At 1998-2000 models there is 136-138 hp with above treatment. At the 1998-2000 models the clutch must be adapted to any performance increase.

  • Strengthened clutch plates from Surflex for the 1998-2000 models costs 195 €.

    To reach the 140-144 hp level the cams of the 1998-2000 models must be changed to the cams from the 2001-2003 models. Is to be regarded as unprofitable. The parts are too expensive for it. An engine exchange comes more favorably.

    Further modifications at the 2001-2003 models are also connected with different cams and valve diameter enlargement.

  • Regulation-conformal stages require usually a closed air box (EVR carbon fiber air box 998 €).

    For 2001-2003 models

    Further stages till 152-155 hp are available and require the following:
  • A set larger valves, ceramic coated. 8 pieces costs 760 €.
  • Assembling with head porting, finally adjusted and ready to install costs 1080 € excl. tax.

  • This works should be combined with a 56mm injection body. Costs 495 € in exchange.

  • All variants with porting are equipped with a fixed chain tensioner system! The costs amount to 45 € per set.

  • Afterwards the motorcycle should be tested on our dyno stand. The expenditure for it is different, depending upon motorcycle. The costs amount to approx. 150 € to 300 € excl. tax.
  • Moreover sealings and Race spark plugs are needed. Costs approx. 100 €.

    Above mentioned stages up to 140-144 hp are problem-free suitable for the
    traffic/road use, but are not legal! Reliability and movability remain full. Adherence to maintenance after appropriate stage presupposed!

    The stages of development up to 152-155 hp should be reserved to racing, cause the care and maintenance costs clearly rises. With 155 hp also a large Race radiator could be necessary. It is possibly used, but however not inevitable. Depends on the first test runs. The engines in these tuning stages behave thermally very differently.
